American Liver Foundation's Liver Life Challenge

  • Event Date: 06.06.09
  • Event Time: 03:00pm
  • Location: Mt. Shasta

The Liver LIFE Challenge Climb is a pledged overnight endurance climb event. The program has raised more than $485,000 since its inception. Many of our climbers have used their good health to help someone else. All of our climbers have a commitment and a passion for promoting liver wellness and raising awareness for organ donation. Climbers raise a minimum of $2,000 in pledges through corporate and/or vendor contacts, friends and family members for the American Liver Foundation while promoting liver wellness and organ donation. Climb Team Limit is 32. Apply by February 27, 2009.

No prior mountaineering experience is necessary, however experience with hiking and backpacking is a definite plus. You must be in good health and good physical condition before joining the climb team. Several group training climbs will take place in the greater bay area.

Climbers will tackle Mt. Shasta, the second highest volcano in the U.S. You don’t need to be a professional mountain climber, though you should definitely be in good health and up for a rigorous hike. Climbers can feel the satisfaction of a tremendous physical achievement, and feel good about benefiting the American Liver Foundation. The average climber raises around $3,000!
