Funds will benefit the Kawangware Street Children and Youth Project. Former street kids started Kawangware Street Children and Youth Project (KSCYP) to provide positive opportunities for the children of Kawangware, a slum bordering Kenya’s capital Nairobi. Locally managed, KSCYP strives to get youth off the streets and offers economic and performance activities. The profits generated help support the youth workers’ basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care and education, while also taking care of the community’s orphaned and vulnerable children. NextAid has joined forces with KSCYP by committing to seek funds for the construction of an eco-friendly, multipurpose facility for the project’s micro-business.
