What is Causecast?
We are a newly-launched technology startup that aims to drastically increase online giving by providing cause-based knowledge, tools and social connections in a fun, rewarding environment. Located in sunny Santa Monica, CA, Causecast promises to be the first sustainable online platform for change.
It's a startup environment, so you're joining a team of passionate people who are "all hands in" to continue growing this exciting company! - Produce and edit original, short-form non-fiction content for the Causecast website
- Create original, short-form non-fiction content for the Causecast website
- Organize, cut down and assemble incoming media for further editorial
- Research cause-based news online and assist in developing content for weekly Causecast video blog
- Coordinate compression of finished projects and transfer to online
- Coordinator duties (administrative, scheduling, etc...) for busy production office
- Assist with troubleshooting, promotion and growth of the Causecast website
- Production - Experience producing and shooting top-quality video content
- Work experience in an office environment.
- Post-production - Experience editing top-quality video content
- Solid knowledge of Final Cut Pro and editorial process
- Strong ability to multitask and handle details
- Minimum time commitment of 18-24 hours per week
- Work experience in documentary, reality or news and After Effects experience a plus.

- Assist in day to day development and maintenance of the site
- Assist in setting up and maintaining IT infrastructure
- Represent Causecast at technology focused events and gatherings.

- Strong interest in open source technologies, web technologies, online media and distribution

- Coordinating events and partnerships

- Assist with the management of relationships between CAUSECAST and non-profit organizations across all media platforms.

- Seek out opportunities to engage existing and new non-profit partners in CAUSECAST's media endeavors
- Propose, research and assist in the implementation of social action campaigns
- Assist with company engagement in volunteer opportunities and other community relations

- Moderation of User Generated Content: 70% Screening Content (Scanning through recently submitted content—clipped content, uploads and comments—for community and legal standard violations) and 30% Community Moderation (Responding to abuse flags, participating in discussions, answering questions)

Graphic Design Intern
Job Type & Location: Part-time graphic design internship positions available in Santa Monica, CA
Job Description: We're looking for a few motivated, incredibly creative, hardworking, energetic cause-minded individuals who are passionate about design AND the world at large.
You will have multiple opportunities to have your creative voice heard + implemented while also participating in all aspects of design and production. We're all about fresh ideas here, no matter what the source, and are looking for people who have the technical skills (so a grip on Photoshop + Illustrator) as well as the creative wherewithal to make aesthetic, visually impactful choices when it comes to the work they create. So bottom line - you have the opportunity to guide projects from their creative conception all the way through their final completion!
We participate in a wide variety of events and parties, so designs are not limited to web design and you will have plenty of opportunity to collaborate on printed collateral. You also won't be on the computer for hours at end, but will have the chance to create work by hand (illustration, painting, crafts, etc!) if it fits the scope of the project.
Different projects come in quick and fast, so you won't be working on the same thing for very long; that means you can look forward to using a wide variety of design practices and hopefully have an experience that put your abilities to the test!

Freelance Writing Contributor
Job Type & Location: Full-time and part-time contributors desired. Work from home.
Job Description: Causecast is looking for experienced and thoughtful writers to contribute cause-based news and editorial content. You will coordinate with our Managing Editor to select relevant topics and write news articles with a focus on how readers can take action.
Contributors will also occasionally write and submit opinion-based editorial articles. Though our writers are encouraged to express diverse opinions, the focus of these editorial pieces is to encourage giving and active participation in causes.

Editorial Intern
