    So I'm wrapping up my last day here at Causecast and there's a lot to look back on. There have been some long days, but this has definitely been one of my better summers. Causecast has been a 'marketplace of ideas' for me; it's been a place where I bounced around ideas, learned about new solutions to old problems, and it's been a place where I saw myself develop and mature as a person. True, I still prefer to wear basketball shorts to work, but I never saw the connections between different causes. When talking to people about how jacked up the world is, I find that the phrase "all causes are inherently connected" is now a part of my vocabulary. Causecast is not only for people interested in global crisis, even people that want to make a difference in their neighborhood will find Causecast useful.     Our Planet It's said that the modern environmental movement started with this image. One of the first to be taken of our planet from space, it was a stark reminder to those who viewed it that we are all here together. It showed that our planet is beautiful, full of life and, most importantly, delicate. Now, decades after that picture was taken, we have yet to make significant progress on preserving our planet.
    Whether it's people saying that the planet will naturally cool down or that spending millions for clean energy is a waste, there have always been obstacles. But I think that the greatest problem is also our greatest strength. We live in a service-based economy and have grown accustomed to instant results. However, with global warming and the green economy in general, there is a high initial cost and most benefits don't come for a while.
