We will risk the few, to protect the many....

Spock once said, "We will risk the few, to protect the many" or something like that....in other words, it's o.k. to hurt a few, in order to rescue many. But I once witnessed a baby's death from his vaccination, at the hospital that I worked in. The baby's brain swelled up, as a side effect of the routine vaccination, he was only a few months old. But his parents were sooo sad. I even cried, and I hadn't had my Lorenzo yet. It was their only child. And every child is special. It is not o.k. to hurt any child, in the name of "protecting" others.
