    Celebrities Band Together to End World Poverty and Inequality in

    “In My Name”

    New York, NY, September 25, 2008 – Think.mtv.com, MTV’s online community for youth activism, today announced it will world premiere Will.i.Am’s new inspirational video, “In My Name.” The video, written by Will.i.Am, the lead singer of the band Black Eyed Peas, seeks to engage ordinary people around the world in the fight to end poverty. With a range of high profile supporters including Kristin Davis, Fergie, Mischa Barton, Emmanuel Jal and Ela Bhatt, to name a few, will air on Think.MTV.com today and run throughout the day on MTV2, mtvU, MTV Tr3s, MTV Hits, MTV Jams, MTV.com and MTV Mobile.     The title of the “In My Name” track, which was recorded by several international artists and Will.I.Am, originated from the major new campaign initiative in New York called “In My Name.” “In My Name” is an interactive global campaign under the banner of GCAP (Global Campaign Against Poverty), Oxfam, Comic Relief and Save the Children. The campaign, which harnesses the best of interactive technology and popular culture to engage ordinary people in the fight against poverty, utilizes an interactive Web site where activists around the world can connect and demonstrate their commitment to ending poverty and inequality.

    The “In My Name” initiative will build enthusiasm and provide a venue for people around the world to tell their government about the importance of eliminating global poverty and meeting the Millennium Development Goals.
