Why I Participate

I have never gotten involved with a cause until now. I have a son who has Autism and I want to make a difference. My son is why I want to get involved.

About Me

I have read, watched, and heard about what could be the causes of Autism, and I know that there are those who are much more verbal than I probably will, but I am here for the children who will grow into adults with this disorder. I know there have been stories of "Miraculous" healings, and as much as I believe in Miracles, I believe in people too. I want to stop the tears that I hide when I come into contact with adult who shows obvious signs of autism. I don't want to worry about my death only because I don't know who will be there for my son. I don't want to stare into the eyes of my baby boy and wonder what is fate will be. I am a mother who is frustrated at watching others make strides against this disorder (autism), and not be in the fight. I want to desperately open a facility that will allow parents (of a child with autism) to go on that much needed date, or to give that sister or brother who feels the same responsibilities for their siblings as the parents, and can't go do the things that would give them a bit of "self-time". I want the greatest facitlity in the world. I want parents to have the trust of knowing their child/children will be treated like the precious gems that they are. I want to support other parents, siblings,and caregivers who face the same circumstances I and my family face.

My Interest

My interests are many...I like playing chess,(just learned and I suck). I guess I do "really" like being around my family. I would love to devote time to finishing projects that I start...like crocheting, sewing...perfecting my sushi-making, being the greatest "Barbeque" person in the world...and a couple of other things, but for right now I will settle for being the best mom I can.
