Why I Participate

There are so many issues, problems, and frustrations in the world, that I want to try to do my small part to help bring awareness to them, get people involved with them, and donate money and time to them. I am in the process of launching a few companies/projects and want to have social justice causes as an intrinsic aspect from the beginning. A real, function culture company that pulls inspiration from important world issues and donates money and time back to organizations that are making a difference. Also, I care about people and have a heart for the hurting people around the world. I want to help them conquer the things keeping them down, whether it's lack of clean water, AIDS, lack of food, poverty, lack of credit, human slavery, religious or cultural discrimination, natural disasters, genocide, government / political instability, war, and anything else that is bringing evil upon their lives.

About Me

A few years ago I put the slogan "Rocking is a Mentality" on one of my business cards for my record label and productions company (Right Eye Records & Clam Chowder Productions). People always used to ask me about it and I would tell them it means getting the most out of life - rocking out and enjoying life: music, arts, travel, new fun things, sports, excitement, creativity, pranks, etc. I am a big music guy, although I don't play anything - I am the guy behind the tunes, and I love going to shows and concerts and enjoying live music, whether it's one of my favorite bands or one I am checking out for the first time! I almost always "rock out", which means that I get into it - that's how I enjoy the music, while most people at the show at too cool for school, afraid to really enjoy themselves (for those of you who enjoy just standing there - that is fine, as long as you enjoy yourself that way...ha). This rocking out doesn't always mean I am going nuts; for some indie rock bands I am just tapping my foot and nodding my head, while for some funk bands I might twist and shake my booty (it sounds better when I say it aloud it a joking fashion), and for a post-hardcore band I might head-bang a bit! I love trying new things and experiencing new arts and events, especially in the awesome city that is Los Angeles, where I have lived now since Fall 2008. There is so much going on! I like playing ice hockey in men's leagues, ultimate frisbee leagues, pick-up basketball with friends, and tennis and golf from time to time. In the winter, I love to hit the slopes (...on my snowboard, not a lunch try). I am a freerider and I love to shred the glades, tree trails, double blacks, and moguls. I LOVE POWDER and try to utilize it, whenever possible. I partially love riding because it does make me feel cheesily "one with nature" and it excites me to enjoy God's creation in such a wonderful way! I love love marketing and promotions, branding, and event planning and management. I have started a few different companies and am working on a new project for late Spring 2009 called NECTIC. I love planning events and parties and getting my friends psyched about cool things and cool bands.
