U2 @ the Rose Bowl
- Posted on 10.26.09
Hi,
Yesterday I had one of the best opportunities of my life, help liberate Suu Kyi and attend a U2 concert.
With Amnesty International, I was able to volunteer and convince concert goers to sign the petition to help Suu Kyi in Burma. It was hot and dusty, but we still had the drive to keep on with the petitions. From standing next to restroom lines to walking around, even, we got people to sign. The day was long but full of surprises.
Together with One.org, Burma, and Greenpeace, we had the opportunity to walk on stage during the song “Walk On". The rehearsals for walking on stage were very structured and easy to work with.
Right before entering the concert, we met Levi Felix and a couple of other Causecast people. It was cool to see them after the Lobby Days for Invisible Children.
The concert was more than amazing and classic. Going on stage and feeling the energy of the crowd to show support for Suu Kyi was epic. U2 performed to an unexplainable extent. Yesterday will be a night I will never forget.
Thanks to all the organizations that participated in this event :)
