  • Aung San Suu Kyi's trial postponed again

Aung San Suu Kyi's trial postponed again Once again, the court that has put Burma's Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on trial has postponed the hearings, delaying the testimony of her last defense witness, Khin Moe Moe, a legal expert who is also a member of Daw Suu's NLD - The National League for Democracy.

The court said that the trial will continue on June 26th, but it will convene next week, specifically on June 17th, two days before Aung San Suu Kyi's 64th Birthday, which is on June 19th, to consider Suu Kyi's appeal of lifting the ban on allowing them to hear the testimony of her two other defense witnesses - U Tin Oo, chairman of the NLD, and U Win Tin, another senior leader of the party who was imprisoned for 19 years in Insein Prison, where Daw Suu is most likely to be imprisoned.
