Why I Participate
I amd the founder of GoPhilanthropic - a travel philanthropy company devoted to linking people with social projects around the world so that they can see in person the value of supporting causes. We also are connected to inspiring humanitarians and offer people experiences with these amazing people to see and learn first-hand about their projects...we make being a philanthropist accessible. We create travel programs/tours for individuals, families and small groups, then connect them with various social and conservation programs striving for self-sustainability. These solution-oriented projects are unique to each region’s challenges and range from schools, to clean water, to environmental projects and micro-business financing. Through our Philanthropic travel programs, travelers plan in advance to purchase and deliver directly through our partner NGOs tangible items such as: 1) Water wells 2) Portable Mobile Libraries (boxes containing 250 bilingual books) 3) School supplies, furniture, or computers In addition, in certain locations our clients have the opportunity to meet in person 4) Candidates for school scholarship 5) Microloan/finance candidates

We are offering a very rare experience to travel with the grandsons of M.K Gandhi this December for a rare inside look at Gandhian philosophy and rural health and economic development programs in India. Due to the exclusivity of the trip, we are initially extending this invitation to particular organizations with interests in philanthropy and global development--I thought the Causecast community would be interested. Dr. Arun and Tushar Gandhi have so much to share about their grandfather...and how his ideals are still at work today in india. The group will visit various humanitarian projects in Mumbai and Delhi as well as offer support for a school the Gandhis are building for children they rescue from sex and labour trade in the Kolhapur district outside of Mumbia Details of the trip can be found on http://www.gophilanthropic.com/you/giving_circles.php
