Steady as she goes
- Posted on 09.23.08
It was completely random to be approached by a friend while having dinner at Juliano’s Raw. She lives up in the Berkley area and happened to be visiting LA for the week. Well, maybe it wasn’t complete randomness. Raw foodist tend to be where raw food is served and so few places in LA do so. She was excited when I extended her a last minute invite to see the Raconteurs play that night.
We arrived at the Greek Theater, found our seats, and sat down just in time for The Raconteurs to start. I observed the crowd and my surroundings while a reoccurring thought entered my mind. Every time I attend a concert I think about how so many people from so many different backgrounds, ethnicities, and lifestyles can come together and share this one common interest. It’s beautiful to watch everyone sway and move and clap to the same rhythm. It’s like sharing the same heartbeat. We are all one.
In deeper thought, it would be nice the see that change in the world. What if everybody can put aside their differences and just be? No more war, no more hatred, no more racism, no more violence. The world would be one giant rock concert!
…AND I snap back to reality. The show itself was all kinds of awesome! The Racontuers sound great live. Jack White is an amazing performer.
After the show I took time to socialize with others and tell others about Causecast. Hmm…maybe not the best idea as post-concert energy of concert-goers are usually drunk, high, or super-cranky because they gotta deal with getting their car out of stacked parking. But I worked the crowd is did my thang:
“Hi folks, have a sticker. This website is gonna change the world. Causecast wants to know what changes you’d like to see in the world?”
Doing my best to have engaging conversations, people tended to be vague:
them: I’d like to see big changes.
me: Ok, that’s cool man. What kind of big changes
them: BIG changes
Well, vague or specific most people were thankful for the sticker and gave intentions to check out the website.
As for spending time with my friend, she updated me on all the major shifts and changes that she had been going through. Positive changes as if the universe decided all things to be in alignment with her purpose in this world. I was fascinated. I mean, I’ve always believed in the power of attraction (what you think about, you bring about). I’ve manifested enough change in my life to know that it works. But my friend had somehow harnessed enough thoughts and meditation to have it work in such a way that it changed her entire world.
As a fellow raw foodist we discussed how our lifestyle supports so many causes. We eat whole, locally grown products so we support the local farmers. We support health by eating organic so pesticides and other toxins will not harm the earth and our bodies. Animals are not harmed or humiliated because we choose to eat vegan. The earth is protected because meals are prepared simple without involving heat processing or refining in a pollutant factory. Whatever food scraps are not used can be turned into compost and returned to the earth. The list goes on. It’s a literal “change from within.” Or so the Causecast slogan goes: Change your world and the world will change.
My friend was intrigued when I told her about Causecast and all the organizations and causes they support. A successful recruit! Another advocate for change will be joining the website as a user. She has been manifesting so much good change in her world so it makes sense to expand her manifestations. So now I ask, if enough people live a raw food lifestyle, will we be able to manifest an impactful and positive change in the world?
I’m going to ponder this thought in post-concert euphoria singing “steady as she goes…” in my head while eating freshly cut mango slices, freshly squeezed orange juice, and an unpasturized bag of almonds.
