Where Traffic and Rainy Nights Meet

I don't know WHAT is going on this year in terms of the weather, it could be foreshadowing a dark future...BUT the monsoon of a spring I experienced back home in DC was insanity. My room is all windows (so cool, right?!), so when the sun is out, it's as though I'm just floating in the sky; it's majestic. But when it's raining, or worse, lightning, outside, I feel like Dorothy on her way to Oz. And I don't have Toto there to cuddle with, so I'm seriously SOL. A few months back, on a hoppin' Friday night, I planned to go into the city and, I don't know, socialize or something. There LITERALLY aren't enough cute clothes to wear in the rain to make that a possibility. I don't have a shower-proof wardrobe, though that would be awesome, and I refuse to look frumpy, so I said, 'screw it, I'm stayin' in.' I lit some candles, downloaded a movie, and cuddled under my blanket for a night of excitement: I had downloaded "Taken." PS- this sure as hell was while it was in theaters! Ohhhh, the won...Read More

A Picture CLEARLY Does Not Say a Thousand Words
- Posted on 06.11.09
We all do it. Don't try and pretend you haven't. Just know that if you do want to deny it, I'm not buying it, not for one second. The uproar of social networking has made it so easy to do what most people only do behind closed doors. Get your head out of the gutter, I'm talking about stalking.
Yes, I said it. Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace (if you're desperate enough), are all perfect for it. You see a cute guy and want to know, or see, more. Run into an ex-flame and want to make sure their life is miserable without you. Maybe you hook up with a girl and want to make sure she's cute when the lights are ON. If you find yourself in any of these situations, the internet's ready and willing to help. It's the truth, you do it. Well, I know I do it. As I was going about my usual day, flipping through Facebook albums of people I couldn't have exchanged more than three words to, I followed a link to a website, www.howitends.tv , and suddenly my journey of inquiry came to a halt. As I sc...Read More -

Don't get your hopes up QUITE yet, we aren't crashing the Trump wedding or anything, but you're definitely putting your head to good use. Today, in the office (I'm presently a marketing intern at Causecast), all the buzz is on the Locks of Love event (http://www.causecast.org/events/206-donate-your-hair-to-locks-of-love-at-cristophes-salon) in the ever-so posh Beverly Hills, CA. Get ready to chop it up or shred it off, we're donating your silky strands to people who need it more than you do!
For those of you who don't know what Locks of Love is, let me fill you in. LOL (how could I resist that acronym?) put simply, is a non-profit organization that brings together people who have an excess of hair (minimum 10 inches, tip to tip) to those who are in need of it. Specifically geared towards children, LOL brings the gift of hair to financially disadvantaged kids suffering from long-term medical hair loss of any diagnosis. Christophe Salon, in Beverly Hills, CA, couldn't pass up this ...Read More
