Campaign For Change

  • My thoughts on Causecast

Causecast stole my idea. They cast their target right on my most important cause - my meaning in life. I just don't know how they changed history to make it seem like they had the notion first. If they're able to do that, shouldn't I, too? Who invented Nutella? That was me, sir.

You see, I found this website when I thought nothing like it existed. As far as I knew, a social network that gave members small rewards for doing good deeds was unique to the tunnels of my synapses. To be fair, I was influenced a lot by Peta2's street team and Microsoft's Live Club, but I didn't want to focus solely on game-playing and animal rights. I wanted the full spectrum of causes. When I learned about Causecast, my motivation to make a website just like it ceased and my cause was casted away.

But not all hope was lost. Not only could I skip learning Ruby on Rails (or Rails Fails as I like to call it), but a website I wanted people to use is already being used by people. And it's beautiful.

But it's BETA. BETA as hell, in fact. Hopefully, Causecast steals these ideas, too.

    - Mention the Kudos concept on the homepage. It's a very enticing concept!
    - Update the featured video every day, as I (and others) visit the site every day.
    - When I click "Join Now", I should not be taken to a page asking me to Login. Socialvibe does this well: http://www.socialvibe.com/signup
    - Update The Causecast more!
    - It says I recruited two people. Who are they?
    - The Idealist.org integration is a little weak if your in L.A
    - The Idealist.org integration is impossible if your in anywhere else

I know you guys are prolly working on these things, already, but I can't wait for (y)our idea to really start bearing fruit.
