Why I Participate
Jennifer is a child abuse survivor who had a friend who fell victim to murder in high school. As such, Jennifer loves benefiting organizations such as RAINN (The Rape Abuse & Incest National Network), Crime Stoppers, Voices & Faces, and other anti-violence non-profits through fund raising and educational concerts and events. She believes that "making something beautiful blossom out of pain and darkness" is her calling in life.
About Me
Jennifer is an independent recording artist based in Houston, Texas. Grassman sings, plays the piano, and composes her own original material. Her music video, Pretty Girls, recently won Dances With Films, in Los Angeles, California. Pretty Girls is the single on Grassman's debut album, At The Back Of The North Wind. The album also features White Roses, a song Grassman wrote in memory of her late friend, Rachael Koloroutis, whose story was featured on ABC's 20/20. Grassman's second album, Keep Silent; A Collection of Ancient Carols, is a Christmas album. It will soon be followed by Grassman's third album, Serpent Tales & Nightingales, which is currently in post production and due for release in Winter, 2009. Serpent Tales & Nightingales features guest musicians Mathias Blad of Falconer, Tyson Sheth of Hello Love, Todd Oxford, and Grassman's husband and longtime guitarist, Jason Greenberg. Serpent Tales & Nightingales is being produced by MD Thompson at Ivory Tower Realizations.
