my summer of a purposeful paycheck at causecast
- Posted on 07.30.09
ten things I have learned about my paycheck of love, purpose, learning, happiness, growing, and adventure this summer in LA!
* I can never go back to working at a place where my heart is not, and people just work for money.
* Real creativity is found when you are in a situation bigger than yourself, surrounded by fully alive people who truly love their jobs.
* I do not need a stable home anymore. That is so boring, home is where my heart is.
* Twitter can change the world, its so influential, I do not make fun of it anymore. Going to go tweet that!
* Love, beauty, and community can be found in the hood of downtown and sands of Santa Monica
* I am addicted to my tomtom gps, create your own fro-yo places, hot sauce, and nutella shakes!
* It is possible for me to be in an office for 10 hours a day and have the time fly by!
* Working at Causecast is more of a lifestyle than a job. From it constantly comes up in conversation with everyone, ste...Read More -

How it Ends lobby days in DC (http://www.howitends.tv/) was much more then just the biggest lobby days for Africa in history, with over 2000 dreamers and 300 of them being all the way from California, to ask our leaders if my life is as valuable as an African child's. It was more than listening to Luis Moreno-ocampo and Tom Shadyac share their brilliance or the 400 meetings we had with our congress and senators. But to me it was about about bunch of YOU'S coming together to create a WE.
WE are shaping human history. Finding what makes us individually come alive. What we can do to redefine out role in the world by refusing to let society put the twinkle in our eyes out. We are proving that if you are not free than I am not free. We are all humans and your skin color matters as little as your eye color. We want to give opportunity not charity. We are discovering our "full-ass passion!" We are putting purpose over profits and discovering what really matters. Together we have becom...Read More -
Why I love the new Causecast office
- Posted on 06.16.09
1.We have time machines. Yes it is true. Not sure how they work but there are big machines with lots of buttons. I am going to figure out how they work and go back in time. First stop will be on a subway in Chicago while on the Rescue dancing with my favorite people in this world and being so high on life!
2. We have windows that you can look out but not see in. Its people watching at its finest. Watching people groom themselves. Hilarious.
3. Levi has a floor to ceiling marker board that Amy and I painted-endless fun.
4. We have a pingpong and pool table AND rock band.
5. There is a metal airplane that is about 8 3/4 feet long hanging above my desk. I bet you dont have that.
6. We have bathrooms that are dimly lite and have wall mirrors- its like a club. Also you turn the light switch on a timer so if your poop takes extra long you are in the dark.
7. We eat our lunch on astroturf and couches. Most of them time I take this place over as my office with Amy.

I have realized you are what you wear. Whether you like it or not the first thing people notice is your appearance. Instead of continually trying to be keep up with latest trend (and yes I do love the So. Cal. scarf trend-it does get cold and they are fun to play with) what you wear can be your greatest advertisement for what you believe in.
So before you go to some big corporate store to buy something that supports sweatshops, child labor and boringness check out these sites:
http://acholibeads.com/store/ For every women they partner with 20 displaced Acholi people benefit -I love this because all the women in the program said domestic violence has drop dramaticaly as a result!
http://nuintentions.com/ Empowering women worldwide -I love this because they aim to inspire other businesses and entrepreneurs to become socially aware, both internationally and in their own communities.
