my summer of a purposeful paycheck at causecast
- Posted on 07.30.09
ten things I have learned about my paycheck of love, purpose, learning, happiness, growing, and adventure this summer in LA!
* I can never go back to working at a place where my heart is not, and people just work for money.
* Real creativity is found when you are in a situation bigger than yourself, surrounded by fully alive people who truly love their jobs.
* I do not need a stable home anymore. That is so boring, home is where my heart is.
* Twitter can change the world, its so influential, I do not make fun of it anymore. Going to go tweet that!
* Love, beauty, and community can be found in the hood of downtown and sands of Santa Monica
* I am addicted to my tomtom gps, create your own fro-yo places, hot sauce, and nutella shakes!
* It is possible for me to be in an office for 10 hours a day and have the time fly by!
* Working at Causecast is more of a lifestyle than a job. From it constantly comes up in conversation with everyone, stealthy putting up stickers all over town, and viralizing the websites news and steps to take action!
* A day with out exploring, Jonathon's comedy, a sunset beach run, rescue riders, or beating Eric is a day wasted
* Driving 18.2 miles in an hour is not that big of deal and parking is worth more than gold.
Whats next? some much needed family time in Phoenix, Coronado Island, and Coeur d'Alene lake! Then off to Uganda/Rwanda for a development and sustainability study abroad program! i will be studying culture, history, international develpment, human rights, grassroots movements, and language at the university then doing field work with nonprofits, NGOs, and the UN! I will be living in huts with families, hostels, dorm rooms, 5 star resorts, and IDP camps! After i will be wandering around and going to where ever my heart leads me...maybe visiting invisiblechildren.com, acholibeads.com, and maybe new years in cairo! love!
