Why I Participate
To try and bring some improvement to the world, and It's cathartic. I'm an RN specializing in Burns & Critical Care. I've learnt to never underestimate your ability to influence the world and the everyone in it. I have done international work in the past and hope and plan to do much more in the future. Nothing makes me feel more thankful for what I have, and more satisfied with what I'm doing, than working for over-exploited communities. It was in 1996 on my travels to Mae Sot and the Thai/Burma border, and into Liberated Burma and Karen State, that my old world crumbled. The experience changed everything about me to the core, and everything I look for in the world.
About Me
I'm currently quite involved in importing value added orchard products from Afghanistan in an attempt to offer farmers an alternative to opium poppy. Checkout http://www.arghand.org/ for my inspiration on this enterprise.
