Getting rid of the old

A few weeks ago I was researching online for a PSA contest for breast cancer. I went through a lot of information and stumbled upon a video (http://www.causecast.org/videos/3543-what-youre-wearing) that spoke about how there is a link between what you put on your face and body and some factors in causing breast cancer. This sent me into a journey of figuring out what exactly was in my cosmetic products.
I mean, I'm the biggest makeup junkie, with a Beauty Insider card from Sephora, carry an ULTA card and visit all my local beauty supplies store. So, if you could imagine, it was no small feat to go through all my makeup (and actually I'm still not done yet). After two days of trashing more than 80% of my makeup, I finally went online and bought some safe and non-toxic cosmetics and body products at bubbleandbee.com, jane iredale, coastal classic creations, and at Whole Food's body aisle.
I feel liberated that I'm not chained to the parabens, fragrance, and a whole host of other ingredients that are linked to cancer. See http://cosmeticsdatabase.com for more information on what is lurking in your medicine cabinet. I replaced every communal soap, shampoo, body wash, lotion, and sunscreen in the house, and I've made a few others check their stash as well. I hope you do too.
Only 10% of all breast cancer cases are a result of genetics. That means 90% of all breast cancer cases are linked to things like this. Doesn't it make you angry?Related causes: Health
