second blog post ever...lol yes. i am going to blog about meat.

i know it's a bit obvious since it's been a running joke of the past week in the office, but i figured i'd give myself a chance to explain....myself. and hopefully offend a few people.

anybody that's spent a bit of time with me knows that i'm a bit OCD (and quite vocally insistent) about eating organic and staying properly hydrated, and i also have this weirdo diet as prescribed by my homeopathic nutritionist (it involves a monotrophic diet, an eating regimen catered to my blood type of all things, and not eating while drinking amongst other odd rules)
so it can come as a surprise that i'm such a diehard meatatarian.

let me clear some things up:
    1) i don't adhere very strictly to any of my dietary rules-- I believe everything should be in moderation. let's face it-- i'm a 20 yr old college student, and i'm not about to dictate my life according to what i SHOULD be eating and inconvenience those around me because I MUST eat a certain way. i really don't, so why make a huge fuss about it and look like a pansy in the process.

    2) i USUALLY attempt the monotrophic part, as it's supposed to help lower cholesterol (by not combining proteins and starchy carbs in meals) and I actually have pretty bad cholesterol for genetic reasons

    3) I don't over do the whole meat thing. I make sure when i'm going to eat meat, I try to buy+ cook it myself and go organic, except when eating out. I also don't eat meat in every single meal and probably don't eat red meat more than 2x a week, but that's really because i'm cheap. and i don't do pork really at all.

so why do i insist on meat?
    •i love animals
•i'm trying the whole low carb thing
    •makes life easy
•i dont have to worry about passing out or getting headaches from being borderline anemic
•i love food in general, so why rule out an entire food group???
•i'm a red-blooded latina and proud of it. not many of us believe in vegetarianism and god forbid if i ever told my family i was trying out the whole vegan thing. they'd probably laugh in my face.
    •IT TASTES GOOD
