This is my first blog post and book plug. =)
I am blogging in support of a new book by John Delloro called AMERICAN PRAYER: ONLINE MEDITATIONS ON ASIAN AMERICA, OBAMA, AND SELF. I had him as a professor at UCLA and... the man is golden.

Original essays on the 2008 presidential election written by labor organizer and community leader John Delloro for the acclaimed on-line column of the Asian American Action Fund, a Democratic national political organization whose commentaries on the 2008 presidential race were awarded archival status by the US Library of Congress.
John Delloro has spent over a decade as an organizer and labor leader in the areas of socio-economic justice and immigrant rights and as an instructor in the field of Labor Studies and Asian American Studies. He brings his unique perspective as both a professional organizer and college educator to his writings. He serves as the Executive Director of the Dolores Huerta Labor Institute
John Delloro has served as an appointee on the CA Assembly Speaker's Commission on Labor Education, co-founder and board member of the Pilipino Workers Center of Southern California (PWC), member of Legal Advisory Board of the Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance (KIWA) and was previously president of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO, Los Angeles Chapter. He worked as an organizer for different unions in the last dozen years (HERE 226, AFSCME, SEIU 399, SEIU 1000) and teaches a class on Asian American leadership development and community strategies as a visiting lecturer at UCLA and various labor studies courses as a faculty member at the Los Angeles Community College District.
