Hi everyone!
This is the first of many blog posts over the next few months.
A group of 13 students (myself being one) and 1 professor from Concordia University Irvine are taking a two month mission/service trip to Africa.
We will be heading to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda (with a few day layover in London, and the chance of making quick visits anywhere :) ).
While we are there we will be participating in various projects with different organizations while we are traveling around. Slums, orphanages, teaching english, visiting Invisible Children, and just trying to help out and love as best we can.
We are all super excited to go, to grow, to be broken, to be pushed, to be challenged, to be humbled, to know our Savior better, to love, to sing, to dance, to live with joy, to live life to the full.
It has been a very hectic last few days.
I leave in 4.5 hours to go to O'hare and still am not done packing.
I was in a car accident less then 48 hours ago. Hydro-planed (planned?) off of 94 W at the zoo interchange, ran into a tree, possibly totalled the car. It was my moms. shes not too happy about that.
The next day i am out and about and feel very hazy, a bit dizzy, a slow reaction time, and from time to time a bit quezy. A friend takes me to the doctor. After a quick check up and some x-rays, he concludes i have either a mild concussion or these are just side-effects of the Malaryia meds i just started.
Its comforting to know that my medication may be giving me the same effects as having a concussion... haha
I hope you all continue to check back here and follow us.
I will be blogging and up-loading videos of what we are doing hopefully numerous times a week. (pending on internet connection.
For now, i will ask you for your prayers. That is by far the most important thing. I will be updating you all with prayer requests as the trip goes on and it is my hope that you will be able to see God's provision.
For now, safe travel for us all. In the next 24 hours we will have 3 different flights arriving in London and we all need to meet up.
Thank you for your time.
Let us love. Let us be loved. That we all may grow.
I am super excited for what is going to happen!
In Chirst, with love,

Looking forward to your updates and praying constantly for all of you,
Joci's mom
Our prayers are with you and your group. I'm Jamie C's mom so be sure to tell her "Hi" from her family in WI. Be sure to let us know who's in your group and what they are up to so we in the States can feel connected. Perhaps let everyone in your group have a chance to post something on your blog. Have a great adventure and God bless your efforts."For we know that in all things God works for the good of those that love him..."
