Are we doing Enough? What will you sacrifice to disturb the status quo towards action to solve Autism?

I have heard them All. Yesterday I detailed my regime of late night and early morning study, prayer, meditation, and communication with the world to get learn, grow, and change the course of the Autism Pandemic. I told you that most people think they are aware of the needs of the families dealing with Autism.
The general public is woefully undisturbed by the Autism Pandemic and the daily trials of Families dealing with Autism. I feel like taking to the mountain top & screaming. Again I think I have seen it all.... Studies, statistics, TV Shows, Books, Celebrities, walks, fund raising, hunger strikes, speeches, rallies, stand in, sit ins, concerts, and much more. Most happen with little more than a media whimper and a public sigh.
Today I did something out of the box. I drove up to the gate of the biggest house I know in the state and talked to the man doing the landscaping. After a brief conversation, He said I should talk to the owners. They are home.
So I drove down the "The long and winding road" ( and yes that song was going through my head) to the big house. I was dwarfed by the huge double doors. Rang the bell and to my surprise a kind voice said "Come on in" I entered into a magnificent immaculate home.The foyer was as big as my house. 3 stories above me was a lady who welcomed me in and asked me a few questions. It was a little awkward & I had a crick in my neck from talking up to the heavens.
Today though I was empowered and overcame my fear of the unknown to do something different. Maybe I only was able to leave a care with "TannersDad" Autism Advocate, my cell number, and www.causecast.org on it with the owner but a real world human to human seed was planted. Who knows, that seed, this blog, your eyes reading, and your new different action may change the world for the better.

I guess the moral of the story as we get more and more into the techno society of the future web 2.0 3.0 & beyond, the human touch means a lot. I was moved by the passion of Pat & Tuckers Grandparents this week. Traveling year after year in their van "Driving for Donors" For bone marrow. Being thankful for every little milestone. Another day, another handshake, last day of chemo, and smiles on their grandsons faces. Knowing they have helped save lives. Doing something different.

What can you do today...
If you are a parent... Love your child unconditionally. Do not let your child feel they are any less because they cannot communicate the way we do or look after themselves. Do not forget to look after yourself and your significant other. ( If you don't have one find one...There is someone out there for everyone. You deserved to be loved also). Join a church. Speak to your friends. Keep up the good fight.
If you are Friend... If you have resources please consider supporting Generation Rescue as they move the agenda towards services and support programs. If you do not have financial resources provide respite services... Babysit, go with a parent to the grocery store, or running errands. Be there to listen.
If you are in the medical community it is time to wake up and do something...
If you are in the insurance industry it is time to make the people responsible pay...
if you are in the media it time to tell the truth...
If you are in the government it is time act...
If you are in education it is time to educate...
If you are in a religious community it is time to rally the troops to support families...
If you are involved in a Autism group please invite them to join the Move to Heal Autism By 2030 (MTHA)
If you are in the New York City Office of Autism Speaks... remember that $50,000 you took from my community this fall could have helped to pay for my sons therapy this year.
If you are in contact with amanda peet and have a child with Autism invite her over to experience our lives first hand and but out of our childrens and the future of others children.
