Tanner hit another miracle developmental milestone tonight. He sat and watched the entire emmy show with me, without incident. Usually there are picture frames, books, magazines, cups, baskets, nick knacks, blankets, and Compact Discs flying around the room. Tonight, I was transported to a different world. I do not know if he was just really tired or the biomedical treatments are moving forward one step at a time. Tanner was very very vocal all day. Now we are getting "Go go go", "Guy guy guy', and "Daddy go".
I realized something was different when Josh Groban started singing. Tanner was totally absorbed in the themes of the many TV themes. Dancing along to some and watching intently to others. All I know is I said wow and thank God. In this amazingly confusing week, there was calm and peace that was found in a living room in Illinois. I am sorry that this is not an exciting and funny topic but to parents of children living with autism. Three plus hours of peace is amazing.
Even though tonight is peaceful. I am now up at 2 AM because I am excited about these developments. Small steps, small improvements, and much love. At least this morning, I can try to get some needed rest. Let me know if there is any other recovery stories out there.
