RBC Donates $200,000 to Waterkeeper
RBC Financial Group has donated $200,000 to the Lake Ontario chapter of Waterkeeper. The donation was presented by RBC President and CEO Gordon Nixon in honor of the RBC Blue Water Project. The donation was accepted by Gord Downie, lead singer for The Tragically Hip. “This is an important day for Lake Ontario Waterkeeper,” said Mark Mattson, President & Waterkeeper, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper. “RBC’s support brings our communities one step closer to a restored Lake Ontario, so we can all safely swim, drink and fish its blue waters.” “RBC is doing important work, dedicating funds to grassroots watershed protection,” said Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Chairman of Waterkeeper Alliance. “This is the kind of leadership we need to protect our environment and to sustain economic growth for generations.”
