A New Medical Clinic For The Poor Opens In Los Angeles
The poor and uninsured will have another place to turn for medical issues. The Charles Drew University Urgent Care Clinic will open its doors who need ER treatment. “This type of clinic is a true safety net for communities suffering from abysmal health inequities and few care options — and sadly, South Los Angeles fits that description,” said Dr. Susan Kelly, president and CEO of Charles Drew University. “We are stepping forward with a new model of health care for this community, filling a huge void in the most medically undeserved urban area in the entire country,” Kelly said. The clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
