50 Chinese Babies Have Kidney Issues Because Of Tainted Baby Formula
In China one baby is dead and at least 50 more have kidney problems as a result of tainted baby formula. The Sanlu Group who make the formula in question have recalled 700 tons of the formula. China’s Health Ministry thinks that the issue might not be with Sanlu, but with the people supplying Sanlu. The Health Ministry thinks the diary farmers and milk dealers might have been diluting the milk in order to increase production. These people then use melamine to make it seem as if the milk hasn’t been diluted. Last year hundreds of pets in America died because of China’s use of melamine in imported pet food. China reported this issue to the World Health Organization to try to improve it’s reputation and transparency.
