South American Presidents Support Bolivia's Morales In Natural Gas

Controversy has broken out in Bolivia where President Evo Morales has proposed some extremely controversial changes to the constitution. Morales wants to run for another term as president and to redistribute the wealth from the natural gas resources. The eastern provinces which produce the majority of the gas are angry and threatening to break away. In response, they’ve blockaded roads and cut off gas supplies to Brazil, which receives half its gas from Bolivia. Morales has also accused the United States of trying to set up a coup and has kicked the American ambassador out of the country. Many of the presidents in South America met to discuss the situation and have come out in favor of Morales. They are hoping to discuss ending the conflict without any more violence.

What do you think about Morales? Do you think his actions are trying to help the people or install himself as a dictator?
