Victims Of The Mortgage Crisis Might Lose Their Right To Vote
The Democrats went to court to insure that people who have lost their homes in the mortgage crisis can still vote in November’s election. “There is no doubt that there is an immediate threat to the voting rights of citizens in Michigan whose names could appear on a foreclosure list,” said Bob Bauer, an Obama lawyer. This is after the Republican party chairman of Macomb county said, “We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren’t voting from those addresses,” the official, James Carabelli, told the Michigan Messenger. The argument that the Republicans are making is it will be too easy for people without homes to commit voting fraud.
Do you think that people who have lost their homes should still have the right to vote?
