Group Pledges $400 Million For Clean Water
One of the biggest issues in developing countries is the lack of clean water. More than a dozen non-government organizations have seen this problem and want to help solve it. The group being called the “Global Health Mega-Commitment on Water and Sanitation” for the Clinton Global Initiative have pledged to donate $400 million to help provide clean water for 8.5 million people and provide a billion liters of clean water. The most notable donors are Matt Damon who pledged $1 million, Procter & Gamble with $18.5 million, and Pepsi with $4 million. This initiative is also being used to promote micro-financing.
