New Guidelines State ADHD Drugs Should Be A Last Resort
New guidelines by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence in the United Kingdom suggest that ADHD drugs should be last resort when it comes to treating children. “Drug treatment is not indicated as the first-line treatment for all school-age children and young people with ADHD… should be reserved for those with severe symptoms and impairment,” the guidelines say. Many feel that too many children are wrongly diagnosed and treated for this disorder.
