Africa Undergoing A "Green Revolution"

Due in large part to crop breeding, soil management, irrigation and diversification, Malawi has undergone a huge change in its agricultural conditions over the past two years. One reason that is such startling news is that Sub-Saharan Africa is “the only region in the world where per capita food production has steadily declined.” Most farmers aren’t trained on soil management, and thus, their lands are among some of the most depleted on Earth.
These issues, along with climate change and increasing droughts, have left many African farmers suffering with wilting crops. But since the arrival of crop scientists and agro-economists, Malawi has been the place of a “Green Revolution.” Farmers are being trained in sustainable farming, and are succeeding to the point that they are “selling maize to Kenya and giving food aid to Zimbabwe.”
Do you think sustainable farming can be successfully implemented all across Sub-Saharan Africa?
