Bloggers are often accused of complaining about things and never actually doing anything. Blog Action Day 08 is hoping to change that. The concept is simple, get a huge group of bloggers to blog about poverty in some way, shape, or form. Why do this? “Every blogger has a unique voice, audience and perspective. By speaking to their readers on topic about an important issue we can discuss global issues like poverty in a new and hugely multi-faceted way. And from discussion springs action.”

The other great thing about this is it brings sites like Kiva into the forefront. Most people reading these blogs will see a problem but think they can’t do anything about it because they’re short on money. The whole point of Kiva is that you can donate a small amount and it can still make a huge change.

This year, Blog Action Day has signed up 9,394 Sites and expects at least 10,612,112 readers. This is really a great chance to get your voice heard no matter how big or small your blog is.

Check back tomorrow for a great recap of Blog Action Day 08 from Causecast.
