Can Airport Security See You Naked Without Your Permission?

What if someone could see through your clothes without you taking them off? Thanks to a new invention people now can.

People are trying to implement this scanner in airports so they can conduct a “virtual strip search.” EU lawmakers have joined forces with United States civil liberty campaigners to try to get this machine banned. “Many travelers will consider these scanners an enormous intrusion” said Philip Bradbourn of the EU assembly. It might be intrusive but are there positives for this device? “There may be some benefit in having body scanners in our airports, but they should be a last resort and a substitution for a strip search, not a random sample of innocent holiday-makers,” said Bradbourn.

The argument isn’t whether or not this device should be used, it’s about when it should be used. These groups are saying they should be used instead of a strip search, not as a general searching tool.
