What Our Orgs Want For The Holidays

Here at Causecast we couldn’t be more excited about the holidays: Secret Santa’s have been assigned and the cheesy sweater pictures have been taken. We are even more excited though about the potential this holiday season holds for us to make a difference in the communities our Causecast nonprofits directly touch and serve. We hope you’ll join us this holiday season as we give back, giving the best gift money can buy—a donation in a loved one’s name to the charity or cause of their choice. Still looking for that perfect gift? Check out what our organizations are wishing for this holiday season:
Breast Cancer Fund
Breast Cancer Fund is producing some beautiful holiday cards. Recycled and chlorine-free, these cards are sure to brighten anyone’s day! There are also watches, canteens and cuffs for sale.
Charity: Water
Charity: Water offers seven ways to provide clean drinking water to developing nations; they give easy steps to send someone an e-card, buy merchandise, sponsor a well, or send any other form of holiday cheer.
Diamond Empowerment Fund
Donate $100 or more this holiday season to the Diamond Empowerment Fund and receive a sapphire and pave diamond bracelet as a thank-you gift.
Generation Rescue
Do you know a family coping with an autistic child? Purchase Jenny McCarthy’s newest book, “Mother Warriors,” the story of her successful efforts to save her son, Evan, from autism.
Heifer
Choose a meaningful gift to give a loved one and help children and families around the world receive training and livestock that will help them become self-reliant. You can sponsor anything from a trio of rabbits to a water buffalo.
Humane Society
When you make a tax-deductible gift donation of $50 or more, your gift recipient will receive an exclusive 2008 collectible ornament. The ornament arrives beautifully packaged in a gift box and shipped along with a personalized holiday greeting card. And when you make a gift of $90 or more, you’ll receive a second ornament to keep for yourself!
I Live Here
Purchase Mia Kirshner’s “paper documentary” — a visually stunning narrative in which the lives of refugees and displaced people become at once personal and global. It is a raw and intimate journey to crises in four corners of the world: war in Chechnya, ethnic cleansing in Burma, globalization in Mexico, and AIDS in Malawi.
Invisible Children
Need to wrap those presents you got from the other organizations? Invisible Children has got you covered with holiday greeting cards and wrapping paper.
Jewish World Watch
Hannukah cards are a thoughtful way to support the vital work of Jewish World Watch. Each card features a portrait of Darfuri refugees.
Keep A Child Alive
Keep A Child Alive has Holiday specials! You can be a Holiday Angels and receive a Time to Love watch or a Faith Connexion “Believe” tee.
Kiva
This holiday season, give someone the power to change lives— Kiva has microlending gift certificates!
NextAid
NextAid invites you to join their “Make this House a Home” campaign this holiday season. Depending on the level of donation, you could help a South African family receive dishes or a dining table!
Project Angel Food
Check out Project Angel Food for a wide selection of holiday greeting cards.
Save The Children
Everything from Christmas ties to woven bookmarks are available on Save The Children’s website.
Starlight Children’s Foundation
This holiday season, give an adorable stuffed animal to a child in your life and send another to a seriously ill Starlight child who might be spending the holiday in a hospital. Your donation of $50 will bring joy to one of these children, while teaching the power of giving back.
Step-Up
Sign up for Givzy-mail, a fun weekly email featuring the three most popular videos on the web and Step Up will receive 25% of all ad revenue. Advertisers pay for ads and Givzy donates the revenue generated by clicks back to Step-Up.
The Trevor Project
It costs just $15 dollars to sponsor one phone call for The Trevor Project’s suicide prevention hotline. One call saves one life for only $15!
USO
Make it possible for a soldier to make a free call home for the Holidays— there’s no telling what will pass between him and his loved ones. But one thing will be certain: you’ll have brought warmth and cheer to the people who need it most. Help USO support the troops by donating to provide them with prepaid phone cards.
There are so many wonderful giving opportunities during the holidays that we didn’t have space to mention them all — make sure to support the rest of our wonderful organizations below:
