Say No to Foie Gras
julep.jpg

This Valentine’s Day, join our international efforts to educate restaurants and the general public about foie gras cruelty, asking them to make the compassionate decision to Say No to Foie Gras. We will be taking part in peaceful leafletings, tablings, demonstrations, and social events all over the globe as an effort to educate others about the horrors involved in the force-feeding of ducks and geese.

Farm Sanctuary will be holding Valentine’s Day outreach events centering around foie gras cruelty in the following locations: Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Washington D.C., Miami, Orlando, Sarasota, Baltimore, Boston, Syracuse, New York City, Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada) and Capetown (South Africa).

You Can Help
Let’s spread the word that force-fed cruelty is something that nobody should swallow! Join one of the outreach efforts in your area.

Don’t See an Outreach Opportunity in Your Area?
There’s still plenty you can do for the love of the ducks and geese this Valentine’s Day! Here are some ideas:

  • Print postcards asking restaurants to “have a heart” this Valentine’s Day, and not serve foie gras! You can mail these postcards to establishments near you, or you can hand-deliver them yourself.
  • Any time of year, carry these foie gras restaurant cards with you and leave them at restaurants that serve the culinary cruelty.
  • Send a letter to restaurants that serve foie gras and ask them to pledge to take it off their menu.
  • Have a party for your friends and community and make delicious vegan FAUX gras! During the party, talk about whyvegan alternatives to egregiously-cruel products such as fatty liver are as easily-accessible as they are delicious. The party is a perfect opportunity to hand out No Foie Gras fliers.
  • Write a letter-to-the-editor of your local paper explaining that there’s nothing romantic about diseased liver.
