Our Barn Doors Are Open!

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new “Sanctuary Tails” blog … your place for all the news that’s fit to print from behind Farm Sanctuary’s barn doors. Brought to you straight from our very own national shelter director, Susie Coston, and California shelter director, Leanne Cronquist, this down-to-earth blog will:
· Provide you with the inside scoop on what it takes to rescue, rehabilitate and provide daily care for farm animals
· Show you never-before-seen videos and photo slideshows
· Indulge you in fascinating animal stories that haven’t been published before
· And give you exclusive reports on more obscure shelter happenings
Meet our “Sanctuary Tails” bloggers:
Susie Coston, Farm Sanctuary’s national shelter director, joined us in March 2000. In the six years prior to coming to Farm Sanctuary, she worked for a veterinarian and at a sanctuary in West Virginia. She oversees the care of our resident animals and a full department of caregivers, feeders, cleaners, and project workers at the New York Shelter.
Leanne Cronquist, Farm Sanctuary’s California shelter director, began working for us in 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Hope College and a certificate in veterinary technology from Michigan State University. Leanne also manages a full staff at the California Shelter and ensures the daily care of the more than 350 rescued animals.
Now featured on “Sanctuary Tails”
See the brave pigs we rescued from the summer’s Midwest floods enjoy their very first snow day through an incredibly fun photo slideshow posted by Susie.
Join Leanne in celebrating the second birthdays of Phoenix and Casey, two extraordinary Holstein steers who narrowly escaped the veal industry in 2006.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to be on Farm Sanctuary’s shelters, now is your chance to find out. Join us often as we bring the sanctuary experience right to you (twice a week) from those who know it best. Let the barn doors open!
