PROJECT #1 Kenya: Young African EXpress
The Young African EXpress (YAE) is published by Jacaranda Designs and is Africa’s fi rst independent educational newspaper. YAE is a curriculum-based
monthly newspaper geared toward both educated and uneducated youth from the ages 10-18. YAE is dedicated to accelerating social and economic development among youth by providing
specific instructional tools to help end poverty. HOPE worked and provided aid in layout, graphics, photography, video, design & print content to create a special collaborative edition of the publication.

PROJECT #2 Kenya: Chanuka EXPRESS Chanukah EXPRESS is an educational outreach initiative of UNESCO-Decade for Education for Sustainable Development and Jacaranda Designs in
Nairobi. The programs designed for the mobile bus unit equips young people with practical life skills, motivation and inspired attitudes to make informed choices and to help others in advancing quality of life by engaging in sustainable efforts to end poverty while preventing and causing no harm to
themselves, others and the environment. HOPE worked and provided aid for documentation and program creation for the launch of Chanuka EXPRESS.

PROJECT #3 Rwanda: SurViva Program SurViva is a Three Generations & Aegis Trust sponsored training program that benefi ts orphans and genocide survivors in Rwanda. Their profits are shared to provide food and schooling for their community. HOPE worked to help educate on fine design printing and business development. The three day program was funded by HOPE in addition to bringing the needed materials for the workshop. HOPE documented,
establish distribution of the product and create and ongoing relationship for the program in the US.

PROJECT #4 Rwanda: Tiziano Project
The Tiziano Project creates self-sustaining, mutli-media,
online citizen journalism in areas of the world neglected by the established press. They do this by providing equipment to talented locals and mentoring them in journalism until they are contributing to Western news agencies. HOPE delivered recycled/donated equipment, aided as mentors in photo journalism, writing and video, and helped to create published content to aid in establishing Tiziano students.

PROJECT #5 Rwanda: Rwanda Film Festival
Global Grassroots produced the documentary about Brian Steidle’s experience in Darfur, The Devil Came on Horseback and had multiple screenings during The Rwanda Film Festival. HOPE Co-founder, Brian Steidle volunteered
speaking times at screenings while HOPE trained student journalists in documentation of the events.

PROJECT #6 Kenya: GoDown Arts Center • Sarakasi
Sarakasi is East Africa’s largest performing arts organization. It assists hundreds of acrobats, dancers
and musicians in developing their skills, improve their professional techniques and enhancing
their social development. HOPE, Sarakasi & Jacaranda Designs organized an educational workshop focused on job arenas and profi table artist products. HOPE Projects Director, Jeremy Corbell included a physical training session designed to aid in the organizations productions.
