Current TV’s Max And Jason To “POWER” New Green Doc

From Ecorazzi
Max Lugavere and Jason Silva have become the public faces of the Emmy-award winning TV network since being asked to help start things up roughly four years ago. We recently chatted with Max and Jason about their lives at Current, the new film, and where things currently stand with regards to production.
Ecorazzi: How did you come to be involved with the new documentary, POWER?
Max: We have always been eco-concious and obviously get to witness first hand lots of cool people and ideas in the field of green technology. However, we’ve always felt that the quality and quantity of solution-oriented information out there was a bit inconsistent and impractical.
Jason: Then came along director Hunter Richards. As a passionate advocate for renewable sources of energy, he has spent months traveling the world vetting and highlighting the technologies that exist today. He has worked closely with former NASA scientists and people who work for the United Nations to really get a grip on what’s out there.
Max: Hunter was then on the hunt for fresh faces to go on his investigative journey. Our association with Al Gore’s socially-conscious TV network and being a part of other cool projects like TED’s Pangea Day really sealed the deal for him. His passion and enthusiasm has been contagious and the project has been moving along at an incredible pace.
ER: What themes will be explored in the film?
Jason: The film will explore the future of POWER – this means it will be a “solution-oriented” film, looking at renewable energy and scalable solutions that exist TODAY to free us from fossil fuels. We will be on a global investigation examining geothermal, solar, and water power as well as uncovering new technology most people have never heard about, from air-powered cars to air to water machines and much more.
Max: We have a ton of hyper-passionate people who are really raising the production value of our project… Everything from the island of Lanai to serve as a petri dish for a future sustainable world to the talent over at Digital Domain to make Hunter’s vision come to life. It’s gonna rock!
