Best Gay Pride Events in June

June is LGBT Pride Month! There are don’t-miss Gay Pride parades and events happening all over the world this month, so we’re dishing on some of the best.
1. New York. Where the gay pride movement started. Get ready for a full week of events, June 20-28, starting with a rally in Bryant Park and expanding to the all-day Pridefest street fair, the famous march down Fifth Avenue, and a dance on the pier (There are plenty of volunteer opps still available, too.)
2. San Francisco. This year’s theme (kind of bittersweet after Prop 8) is "To form a more perfect union." San Francisco has one of the most entertaining pride parades to be a part of or watch (check out a video from last year’s parade) Main stage is right by City Hall, and will feature headliners BoA, Solange Knowles, and The Cliks.
3. Chicago. This year’s theme is "Stonewall: 40 Years After" and features events all month long, including a lot of youth pride events. Parade, pride run/walk, and Pridefest street festival are June 27, but check out the full calendar for details.
4. Toronto. This diverse city has got it goin’ on for over a week, June 19-28, with a parade, street fair, youth pride and family pride events. And of course, there are plenty of volunteer opportunities.
5. Mexico City. Heading south of the border? Then show your support for the large yet largely underground LGBT community in this city, and help awareness grow. June 28.
