How to Join a Teacher's Movement

Check out Causecast’s United We Serve page for more summer Do-It-Yourself service projects!
It’s a tough time for teachers. School districts in Los Angeles and Seattle are threatening to lay off teachers and increase class size due to budget crises. Join with them and keep our schools strong!
•Get educated. Find out what the teachers are up against and call the schools, teachers unions and educators you may know to learn all you can.
•Join a protest. Many in your community may not know that teachers are facing layoffs. The bigger the protest, the more people you can inform. Make a sign, get your friends together and get out the word!
•Raise money and be part of the solution. Write a blog on Causecast and alert your entire social network about the issue. Education effects the entire country, not just your community. See how much you can raise for the teachers and help keep education a top priority!
