Sometimes the easiest way to serve your community is to get people together. When thoughtful activists are all in one place, dialogue will inevitably emerge. So…if you want to figure out how you and your friends can best enact change, get everyone together!

Pick a place and get some food. The park? Someone’s backyard? A local eatery? Doesn’t matter where it is. Just set the time and place and promise food and beverages (only alcoholic if you’re over 21). They will come.

Have an agenda. Though you don’t want to be too strict, it’s important to bring up the issues you’re there to discuss. If the crowd gets too rowdy, settle everyone down with a joke or your Falling Whistle, and get down to business.

End with a strategy. Don’t let your satiated guests get off the hook by eating and leaving. If you’re discussing an issue, make sure you develop a strategy and plans for future action. By the end of the night, your crowd should know exactly what to do and be excited about the next step!
