William Kostric, the Town Hall Gun Guy

by JONATHAN HARRIS, Managing Editor

Chris Matthews today interviewed the giant weirdo who brought a gun to the Obama town hall meeting.

Essentially, William Kostric attended the town hall meeting, waited outside with a sign that read the following: “It is time to water the tree of liberty!” That sign references a quote from Thomas Jefferson: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

So Matthews, knowing that this man held up a provocative sign and wore a loaded firearm to the meeting, asked why he carried the “god damn gun,” to which the man responded:

“That’s not even a relevant question. The question is, why don’t people bear arms these days anymore.”

There you have it, folks. According to Kostric, it’s essentially your constitutional duty to bring loaded weapons to events, along with signs that suggest refreshing the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants. So, essentially, civil war.

At any rate, this is a bit of a sensationalist story that won’t go anywhere, but it’s so troubling to see the anger and vitriol that’s coming from this health care debate, and even more disturbing to see people like Kostric go on national television and talk about how our liberties are being stripped away because….ummm…Obama doesn’t want poor people to die needlessly?

I still don’t get it. If you can explain it to me, please do. I’m going to obey the 21st Amendment and exercise my right to a drink.

I'm sorry that should say it's easy to say you've lost rights, not see you've lost rights.

I'm confused about what rights anyone in this country has lost since January 20? It's easy to see you've lost "rights" but I have not heard of a single one. Do you really think the President wants this to happen for his enjoyment? That's insane. The people raising hell at these meetings are not informed. Sarah Palin is running around talking about these "death panels" that she made up, people telling the government to "keep their hands off my medicare." President Obama gave a press conference to answer these questions but no one is willing to even listen to him. Everyone needs to educate themselves before they go spewing this "information" they get from Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck.

William is referring to the lost liberties and rights we are slowing losing due to people like Obama and left wing liberal politicians; and “gutless” right wing Republican idiots who can’t stand up for the peoples right. Obama care is not for America; it's for Obama. William isn't saying Obama wants people to die, but reminding that we as Americans are strong and will push back if we have to. Politicians seem to think they are above us people WHO put them in office to represent the "peoples" will. You will see that the majority of people do not want this Obama care money trap. That’s why there so much push back at the town hall meetings, Think about when you say "I still don't get it" think about the patriots who put there life’s on the line to fight for what’s right. Get it now?

I think Arlen Specter got it right today when he said that health care is not the root of these people's anger, but that it's anxiety over the economy...that's only half of it though. The other half is nut jobs like Kostric.
