Do you want to make a difference on your campus? Become a Causecast Campus rep and turn your campus into a growing network of student activists, leaders, and changemakers!

As a Causecast Campus rep, your involvement will be vital to raising awareness of current campaigns and issues, educating your peers, and creating a vibrant community of young activists around the country. You will be the face of Causecast on your campus, bringing our mission of effective awareness and action to your school. You can create and maintain a Causecast club, work with presidents of other clubs towards common goals, and even throw a huge collaborative benefit event at the end of your term.

Never led an organization? Never held events? Don’t fret. Causecast is here to help you every step of the way with effective activist training, continuous guidance and communication from our Causecast HQ, our online fundraising and networking tools, and, of course, free swag and sweet prizes to help make your events and campaigns successful. Once your term is up, Causecast will hook you up with everything you need to move forward as a leader in your community – including a letter of recommendation for future jobs, and even the opportunity for a summer internship at the office in sunny Santa Monica.

The Campus Rep responsibilities have changed a bit to fit your hectic activist schedule a little bit better. We’re taking a multi-tiered approach; so you choose your level of involvement.

Campus Rep responsibilities:

1. Be the face for Causecast on your campus: We need your bright, smiling faces out on the frontlines to provide a personal connection with your peers. We don’t want to be just another url on a sticker; we are a community and you’re the link to a collaborative world changing effort. You’ll be tabling at events and working as the point of contact for people on campus who want to use Causecast to help their cause. You’ll also be creating an online community through facebook, twitter and myspace, where you will be the one providing your campus with the most current cause-related news from around the world; keeping your campus informed and connected.

2. Put the tools in the hands of the right people: Your campus probably has organizations that coordinate with Causecast nonprofits already. Throughout the term you will be responsible for meeting with the presidents of these clubs and bringing them into the Causecast community. This includes having them set up a profile on Causecast for their organization and helping them create a personal fundraising page, post events, news, and bring their members onto Causecast to stay connected.

3. Creating a Causecast Club and Hosting Events: Get official, become a club and do it big. Host events, raise awareness, and collect donations. We will supply you with tons of news, videos, blogs, flyers and other content to help along the way. We’ll suggest an issue for you to focus on each month, but it’ll be up to you and your core members to decide how you want to spread the word to your campus.

4. Take Initiative: For the individuals who want to go above and beyond the call of duty, we have created Causecast Campus Grants. If there’s a bold new project or initiative you’ve been thinking of starting but can’t find the funds, this is definitely for you. Send us your project proposals, and hopefully we can help you turn you dream into reality!

What Causecast will do for you:

Causecast Effective Activism Orientation: For one weekend at the beginning of your term, Causecast is going to host an effective activist training session, where you can meet your fellow class of reps and learn the ins and outs of Causecast, gaining the confidence to talk to anyone and everyone about Causecast. Once you complete our training sessions and head out to create an impact on your campus, Causecast will always be with you. Every week we will connect with you to answer any and all questions you have, guide you with our experiences, and offer you suggestions and solutions to problems you may encounter.

Be Heard: When you post up blogs or videos about all the good you’re creating on your campus, Causecast can put those featured articles or videos on our homepage, giving you the ability to boast your efforts and effectively share them with the rest of the world. This will bring people to your page and enable you to spread the word even more. We’ll also be providing you with the “College Activist Survival Guide” that’s got loads of information from how to start your club to how to protest properly. And if you’ve got some ideas to add, we’d be more than happy to hear them.

Causecast Campus Grants: If you’ve got an awesome idea for something you want to do on your campus but need some funding, you can apply for a Causecast Foundation Grant. If the project sounds great, and you’re the one who can make it happen, we’d love to help you out.
