William Rodgers, Pace Airlines CEO, Arrested For Canceling Health Insurance

The CEO of North Carolina-based Pace Airlines, William Rodgers, recently canceled his employee group health insurance, but Guilford County investigators say he did so without notifying his 337 employees. Rodgers was arrested at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Winston-Salem.
Employers are required by law to provide 45 days notice of any cancellation of coverage. He was charged with willful failure to pay health insurance premiums.
Rodgers took over Pace Airlines this summer and has told employees he’s optimistic about the chance of keeping the fledgling airline afloat.
If you work for Pace Airlines in North Carolina and are feeling just a tad bit WTF at the moment, you can find more information from the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
