Nicholas Kristof is a renowned journalist with two Pulitzer prizes under his belt – one awarded in 1990 for his coverage of the Tiananmen Square massacre, and the second in 2006 for highlighting the tragic events taking place in Darfur. A blogger and activist, Kristof’s honest approach to story telling makes him a highly admired and respected journalist.

His most recent work Half the Sky, written jointly with his wife, Sheryl WeDunn, sheds light on the injustices endured by women around the globe including sex trafficking, gender-based violence, and maternal mortality.

CARE President and CEO Dr. Helene Gayle, picks Kristof’s brain in this interview about Half the Sky. CARE is a humanitarian organization helping to fight poverty around the globe, specifically by empowering the lives of women.
