Philippines Emergency Response From UNICEF
by ERICA LIEPMANN, Causecast Associate Editor
Last week, Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines, destroying entire villages and displacing millions. Poor building construction in shanty towns and an inadequate infrastructure left over 300 dead.
Within 24 hours, the United Nation’s Children Fund (UNICEF) was on the ground in the Philippines, delivering supplies to children and their families in need. But the crisis isn’t over yet! Families are still left without homes and access to food and water.
The good news is you can help! You can make a $5 donation right now from your cell phone by texting “GIVE” to “UNICEF.” Help UNICEF save children’s lives right now in the Philippines and help them be ready to response to other emergencies around the globe.
