GOOD Magazine Contest: Create An Infographic About The Haiti Earthquake

by ERICA LIEPMANN, Causecast Associate Editor
As part of an ongoing series, GOOD Magazine has announced a contest that asks design-minded readers to create infographics that explain the impact of the recent 7.0 earthquake in Haiti and the relief efforts that have followed the disaster. The contest is a collaboration with Design For Haiti that gives amateur designers an opportunity to showcase an original (and educational) work of art.
What is an infographic, you ask? Just as the word’s two halves imply, an infographic is an image that creatively displays facts and information about a specific topic. Check out GOOD’s transparency series for examples of infographics on various subjects.
If you’ve got a creative inkling, this might be the perfect opportunity to build your own knowledge about the situation in Haiti, while producing a work of art that expresses the information you’ve acquired. The winning submission will be featured in GOOD Magazine, both online and in print. In addition to having their work featured, the winner will also receive a free subscription and GOOD t-shirt.
Submissions are due February 9. For more information on the contest, head over to the GOOD website.
