Organization Description
The Human Rights Action Center is a non-profit based out of Washington, D.C., that works on the issues of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Aung San Suu Kyi. Using the arts, we work creatively to develop new strategies to stop human rights abuses.
Less than 5% of the world knows of the existence of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We are working to get governments to print this document into all passports. Because passports are the official representation of government, if the declaration is in all passports, it becomes an official documentation of the world.
We believe that Aung San Suu Kyi, the democratically elected leader of Burma, is the living symbol of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is thus logical for the Human Rights Action Center to be involved in a campaign for Aung San Suu Kyi. As part of our work, we support the US Campaign for Burma.
