Organization Description
Peta2 is the youth division of PETA. With more than 2 million members and supporters, PETA, is the largest animal rights organization in the world.
PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds and other “pests,” and the abuse of backyard dogs.
PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and protest campaigns.

Why I Participate
. . . because simple things can change the world , but only if you do them.
About Me
In good conscience, I can no longer support the organization known as: PETA. PETA is a brainwashing, propaganda spreading machine that only cares about making a splash and getting recognition. Most of their actions don’t represent the fact that they are indeed looking out for my best interest as a member of the animal community. Peta is not an animal friendly organization, their hidden agenda is masked by their surfacey semblance of doing something worthwhile in the world. According to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, their 2007 ‘Animal Record’ report apparently shows that PETA killed off more than 17,000 animals since 1998,which is over 80% of animals taken into their care. Research these facts on your own, be a responsible citizen of the planet, do not blindly follow the std. company line of organizations such as this. PETA claims to be dedicated to protecting animals and treating them "ethically"—it’s right there in the group’s name. But killing animals that could otherwise be placed in adoptive homes isn’t terribly ethical, especially for a group whose $30 million annual income is more than enough to do the right thing instead. I believe many supporters of Peta should read some direct quotes from Peta. “Arson, property destruction, burglary and theft are ‘acceptable crimes’ when used for the animal cause.” - Alex Pacheco, Director, PeTA “Even if animal research produced a cure for AIDS, we’d be against it.” -
